This entry is long overdue...Andy and I went to Honduras with Jacob, Bert, Aaron, and Helen for 10 days in March. We had an awesome time!! Here are a few pictures....
Our first stop was Punta Sal - a national reserve
Jacob with a jungle spider
There were hermit crabs EVERYWHERE!!!
The boys climbed up really sharp rock (dried coral). Jacob couldn't go the distance due to his "girly feet." ;-)
Howler monkey. Andy and Aaron bashed on trees with rocks until the monkeys started to howl. Luckily, the monkeys didn't start to throw stuff at them!
Hanging out on the hammock
Andy showing off his climbing skills.
We spent most of the days out scuba diving. The water was crystal clear!!
On our down time, we lounged in hammocks, snorkeled, and played cards.
It was Jacob's birthday while in Utilla!
There was a very small LDS church (it was actually a house- half of the house was where the missionaries lived and the other half served as the chapel) on the island. There were 16 members that attended church on Sunday. The members were so warm and loving.
Sunrise over Utilla
On our way back to the mainland, our ferry passed a sinking barge!! Those ships are HUGE and sink very fast!
We had such a wonderful time! It was a great vacation for the guys to take before they started work. I did take some time off of school to go to Honduras...a bad grade during my senior year or scuba diving and hanging out in the Caribbean?!?! Yeah, I definitely made the right decision.
